Quickstart: Getting Started with CAEVES on Microsoft Azure

Learn how to successfully prepare for, subscribe to, and configure the CAEVES SaaS offer from the Microsoft Marketplace.

CAEVES on Microsoft Azure

CAEVES is deeply integrated with Microsoft Azure, delivering:

  • Infrastructure simplicity
  • Lower storage costs
  • Automated data lifecycle management
  • Seamless access to Microsoft AI services, including Copilot, AI Search, OpenAI Studio, and Microsoft Graph

Before subscribing, ensure your Azure environment meets the required prerequisites outlined below.

Prerequisites for Using CAEVES on Azure

To ensure a smooth deployment and configuration experience, verify that the following prerequisites are met before subscribing to CAEVES.

1. Active Azure Subscription 
  • An active Microsoft Azure subscription with billing enabled
  • The subscribing user must have Owner or Contributor permissions on the subscription
  • The subscription must be enabled to purchase offers from the Microsoft Marketplace  
2. Required Azure Permissions 

The following permissions are required to deploy, configure, and manage CAEVES resources:

3. Register Required Azure Resource Providers 

Ensure the following resource providers are registered in your Azure subscription:

  • Microsoft.Compute
  • Microsoft.Network
  • Microsoft.Storage
  • Microsoft.ManagedIdentity
  • Microsoft.SaaS

Register providers using Azure CLI:

az provider register --namespace Microsoft.Compute

az provider register --namespace Microsoft.Network

az provider register --namespace Microsoft.Storage

az provider register --namespace Microsoft.ManagedIdentity

az provider register --namespace Microsoft.SaaS

4. Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Configuration 
  • Ensure your Azure AD tenant is properly configured.
  • The user subscribing must belong to the same Azure AD tenant as the Azure subscription.
  • If your SaaS solution uses service principals or managed identities, verify they have the necessary role assignments.
5. Network and Security Requirements 
  • Configure your network and firewall to allow outbound access to the SaaS service endpoints.
  • If using private networks, ensure necessary access to  Microsoft Marketplace and SaaS vendor endpoints.
6. Storage and Data Considerations 
  • Confirm adequate storage capacity and network bandwidth in your Azure environment.
  • Review your organization’s data retention and backup policies to align with the SaaS solution’s capabilities.
7. Billing and Licensing 
  • Review pricing, licensing, and billing terms of the SaaS offering before subscription.
  • Verify your Azure billing account supports Microsoft Marketplace purchases.

Once these prerequisites are met, you can create, configure, and use a Microsoft Azure SaaS subscription

Getting Started with CAEVES on Microsoft Azure

Step 1: Subscribe to CAEVES in  Microsoft Marketplace
  • Navigate to Microsoft Marketplace and open the CAEVES offer

  • Choose your desired plan and click Subscribe.

  • Provide:
    • Your Azure Subscription

    • A Resource Group

    • A Name for your CAEVES subscription

  • Review the 72-hour grace period:

    • No charges unless usage exceeds 5TB

    • Cancel anytime within the grace period

  • Click Review + Subscribe

  • Confirm your primary phone number and click Subscribe
  •  First 5TB of CAEVES Intelligent Deep Storage are free (excluding Azure infrastructure costs).
Step 2: Configure Your CAEVES Account

After the subscription is activated:

  • Click Configure Account Now
  • You will be redirected to the CAEVES landing page to:
    • Enter subscription details
    • Access onboarding and support resources
  • Provide an estimated storage capacity (in TB) for planning
  • Click Activate to finalize setup
Step 3: Manage Your CAEVES Subscriptions
  • Click Go to Subscriptions List

  • Verify your CAEVES subscription status:

    Activated Successfully
